Abstract
Energy efficiency is one of the key factors in sustainable development and enhancing the competitiveness of production units. Given the continuous growth in energy consumption and the limitation of resources, the use of emerging technologies as an effective solution for improving energy consumption efficiency has gained increasing importance. This study aims to examine the role of emerging technologies in increasing energy efficiency in manufacturing industries. The findings indicate that technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, automation, and energy management systems can significantly reduce energy consumption and optimize production performance. In addition, these technologies improve product quality, reduce human errors, and increase the flexibility of production processes.Furthermore, the positive impact of these technologies on reducing environmental pollutants and contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals is evident. Despite these advantages, challenges such as high investment costs, shortage of skilled workforce, and organizational resistance to the implementation of these technologies exist, which require careful planning and policy support. Therefore, the targeted use of emerging technologies, along with addressing barriers and improving infrastructure, can lead to a significant increase in energy efficiency in production units and ultimately contribute to sustainable industrial development.
